The Wandering Kitchen

a Travelling Show with Stops stuffed with Surprises
singing, juggling, music, stories, clownerie

Between clown and Commedia dell’Arte, two cooks travel around with their weird vehicle, a hybrid between a kitchen and a ship on wheels. They do know that feeding people with spaghetti or even truffles is not enough. We must nourish our fantasy too.

Along its course the Kitchen spreads music and soap bubbles, while the cooks interact with things and people they meet or offer “storysnacks” on a tray.

During stops they perform visual sketches, singing a Lyric piece while juggling with vegetables or playing music with kitchen tools, juggling with objects or cooking (and eating) a real omelette while singing Edit Piaf and juggling some eggs.

A bizarre, anachronistic image wandering about that joins technique, comicality, poetry and the desire to stop by and by looking for miracoulous in everyday life.

Most of the sketches are mainly visual and do not need translation.
Anyway if the public is English, Spanish or French speaking, some of the sketches can be enriched with short stories that we can tell either in English, Spanish or French.

HOW IT WORKS:
The Wandering Kitchen on wheels is pushed by the two actors along the path agreed with the Organization. The Kitchen spreads background music and soap bubbles, while the two actors interact with pubblic and things thei meet. They offer “storiesnacks” to the people (short aphorisms pinned with toothpicks on a tray) Their voices are amplified by radiomicrophones.
According to available spaces and lenght of the route there will be stops of the Kitchen in which the actors will perform their numbers (duration of stops 5-20 minutes)
INGREDIENTS OF STOPS
Juggling with objects, singing, live music with objects and intruments, clownerie. A language that does not need translation. If the pubblic is Italian, English, Spanish or French speaking, some of the sketches can be enriched with short stories that we can tell either in Italian, English, Spanish or French.
ADAPTATIONS “A LA CARTE”
The “storiesnacks” proposed can be about a theme requested by the event organizers, or about a place or culture where the performance takes place and may be translated in any language
