“Salto Mortale” by Teatr Strefa Ciszy/the Zone of Silence Theatre from Poznań, Poland - dark circus act for six pianos and twelve performers, builds a metaphor based on the story from the II World War about the abandoned instruments in Szczecin. It is a bizarre, apocalyptic funeral procession of grand pianos conducted by circus artists. After its majestic arrival it slowly transforms into a race of chariots ridden by demons. The instruments become objects of some grotesque entertainment up to the moment of the final scene, which delivers surprising point. SALTO MORTALE is a visionary theatre piece filled with dance, music and acting. It has got perfect tempo and carefully arranged movement.
